live your best life in living coral

Every Fall, The Pantone Color Institute announces their "Color of the Year" for the upcoming 365. Being someone who lives for fashion, design, and all things art, this is always a very exciting announcement for me. In recent years I have really paid attention to the "why" behind the color choice, which goes beyond trends, and really digs into a deeper level of emotion and intellect — in which something as simple as a color can influence and impact our lives.

Flash forward to Spring 2019 - we are in it to win it with "Living Coral." In a time where we are oversaturated with technology and our social media presence (don't worry, I see the irony here) — While rapidly becoming increasingly aware of our environmental impact (hello, plastic straws) — Living Coral is here to remind us to connect with, and appreciate our natural surroundings.

In brief, Pantone describes it as follows: "Vibrant, yet mellow PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment."

I personally adore the color and love their choice. Being Millenial Pink-obsessed (still going strong) - this is an easy shift to something bolder that evokes a lot of the same feeling. A bit more punchy, a bit more full of life. The color is truly energizing but doesn't overwhelm you like a bright neon might.

Living Coral is incredibly easy to wear and looks good on everyone. I also love it for a flushed beauty look (think of cult-favorite Nars "Orgasm" blush) or to liven up your home decor (it works so well with the Art Deco look). See below for inspo!
