hair candy

A few months ago, I saw blogger Jacie Duprie post this photo wearing black barrettes & I was instantly in love. So much so, that I went out and bought an old school package of Scunci barrettes from CVS and immediately brought back an old love I hadn't seen since middle school. For about the last decade, I've exclusively used blonde bobbie pins for any hair needs. But I just loved the idea of the black barrettes contrasted against the blonde hair. From there I began to notice an emphasis on hair accessories all over Pinterest and Instagram.  From oversized styles, lucite, and modern pearl styles, to silk scarves, and even headbands. Embrace your inner 10 year old and have a little fun with your hair accessories. I especially love the ultra feminine hair accessories paired back to either a simple slick-backed look or effortless imperfect waves.  See below for inspo! Where to buy? Try Madewell , Lou & Grey , Anthropologie ,

grammys style stars + my new favorite it-girl

I don't know about you but late winter/early spring can feel like a bit of a dud. But I try to focus on all of the good things that come about this time of year: Girl Scout cookies, tax returns, New York Fashion Week, and AWARD SEASON to name a few. I live for some red carpet fashion.  Most recent was the Grammys. Ethereal silver/pink + feathers/ruffles/tulle ruled the red carpet, in my opinion. And it was dreamy. Not to mention, fiercely feminine. See below for the ones that made me do a double-take and applaud from my couch. Additionally, fashion's newest it-girl Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody) has been KILLING it lately. See her looks below from The Golden Globes, SAG Awards, Critic's Choice Awards, and a few other premieres. I am obsessed. Her hair, makeup, styling, and those dresses . Her look is incredibly modern with just the right about of whimsy. Also, I might go chop off all my hair ASAP because I am here for the blunt bob. Consider

grandpa cardigans

Image
The blog is back - and so are Grandpa Cardigans . In all their chunky-knit glory. There is something just so endearing about the slouchy cocoon silhouette and oversized buttons. Also, pockets. Always a win/win. While more tight and bright cardigans had their moment back in my college days (ahem, thx j.crew) - this new-yet-old friend is less stuffy, more cozy, and extra chic when paired with a simple tee and high-waisted anything. Whether you hit up the thrift store, the mall, or your Grandpa's closet, you won't regret slipping into one of these bad boys. Take a peek at some inspiration images that have caught my eye + my mood board for a perfect day to wear your new party cardi.  The ideal day to wear a grandpa cardigan... bistro, thrifting, coffee, museum, flowers, snuggles. <3  Stay cozy!
