Indie Movies I Watched & Liked + A Sweater Weather Playlist

Image
I am a huge advocate of indie movies & watch as many as I can. Garden State & Little Miss Sunshine  are two of my all-time favorite films. It all began in those early 2000's days of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind/I Heart Huckabees/Lost In Translation around age 15, when I first found my love for them. Then in my early college days I used my library card to watch many more...this was before Netflix. These days I jump at the chance to catch one at a "select theater near you" when I can or catch them on Redbox/Netflix. Here is a list of my top favorites that I suggest you watch too! (in no particular order) "Running With Scissors" - Based on a memoir of the real Augusten Burroughs all about his bizarre childhood & kooky family in the 70's. "Our Idiot Brother" - Paul Rudd, Zooey Deschanel, Rashida Jones...what's not to love? A sweet & humorous story about siblings.

Star Light, Star Bright

This week I was inspired by the great outdoors. But not in the earthy, granola way you might think. In the dark & dreamy, celestial way. The stars, outer space, & the milky way. Gemstones, geodes, & pink sunsets. The color palette: cobalt, magenta, rosegold, indigo, silver, grape, & of course black. Beauty, fashion, interiors, art...my mind has been flooding with the endless possibilities of how one could incorporate this beautiful inspiration into their life. That effervescent wallcovering & those chic lamps are just divine. I'm just a little obsessed with the look to the left & officially on the hunt for that Zoya polish. These shapes, textures, & colors would make any living space a heavenly one. In love with these iPhone cases, magnets, & coasters.  These lively frocks a

Image
Here's five things that made me smile this week! 1) My co-workers & I often joke how when there's carrot cake in the kitchen, it is totally acceptable to eat because technically, it's a vegetable. Or ya know, a peanut butter cookie is just protein right?! lol. So when I saw this on Pinterest I laughed. This will definitely be our new motto. 2) This quote: "For most of life, nothing wonderful happens. If you don’t enjoy getting up and working and finishing your work and sitting down to a meal with family or friends, then the chances are that you’re not going to be very happy. If someone bases his happiness or unhappiness on major events like a great new job, huge amounts of money, a flawlessly happy marriage or a trip to Paris, that person isn’t going to be happy much of the time. If, on the other hand, happiness depends on a good breakfast, flowers in the yard, a drink or a nap, then we are more likely to live with quite a bit of happiness."  — Andy Ro
