dressed in yellow, she says "hello...come sit next to me, you fine fellow"

Recently a guy friend of mine scored an awesome new job, so of course, he'll need an equally awesome new wardrobe to go with it. When he jokingly asked me to help him go shopping, I jumped at the opportunity! I live for fashion & styling my girlfriends, mom, sister, etc. But guys are a different story! So it inspired me to do a post on menswear I love.

In my opinion, here are seven ways to dress like a dapper young gentleman:

1) Every guy needs some cropped chinos/jeans & a great jacket.

2) Get a great pair of glasses. Whether prescription, sunnies, or both.

3) Own a great suit. So you'll only be able to bust it out at the occasional wedding or work Christmas party, but when you do...it is so good. You know what they say, "A well-tailored suit is to a women, what lingerie is to men."

4) Take a que from the greats. Keep it tailored, crisp, ironed, & classic.

5) Top it off with a few manly accessories from head to toe. A leather watch, classic cognac shoes, & if you're feeling really crazy - whimsical socks!

And guys, don't forget boxer briefs...need I say more ladies?!?!

6) A sense of humor is always sexy.

7) Lastly, this quote says it all:

"I can get my head turned by a good-looking guy as much as the next girl. But sexy doesn’t impress me. Smart impresses me, strength of character impresses me. But most of all, I am impressed by kindness. Kindness, I think, comes from learning hard lessons well, from falling and picking yourself up. It comes from surviving failure and loss. It implies an understanding of the human condition, forgives its many flaws and quirks. When I see that in someone, it fills me with admiration."
